Do you ever let your children play with your tablet? Are you trying your very best to teach them their colors and how to mix them? Live Colors for Kids is just the app for you! It is an app that starts out with only six basic colors, but gives children the option to mix and match colors to create endless possibilities.
Kids can either color pre-drawn pictures, such as ducks, cows, or a myriad of animals; or use their imagination and create anything they want to, any color they want to! The app is full of fun commentary (one feature tells kids (and helps them) what color to make to color the picture), and music to keep all parts of their brain working and expanding as they color.
The app tells them exactly what to do and they do it with fun voices and direct/clear directions. The pictures are fun and the objects large enough for smaller hands to color in the pictures with ease. Although there are only six colors, just take the colors down to the mixing tray and create new colors.
There are a lot of pictures to choose from. My daughter’s favorite one is the ladybug and the sunshine picture. She has a blast trying to make the colors they tell her to and while she’s doing that her brother “dances” to the music. The best part is if she wants to make up her own colors and color pictures the way she wants she can, but she can also play so that the game tells her what colors to mix and use.
Another great feature of this app is that once she (or your child) is done coloring or creating, they (or you, rather) can share their picture or whole album to your social networks and show off what they can do and the great colors they were able to create. The possibilities are endless, and it is bound to keep your kids busy for as long as you want/need. It’s great for doctor appointments or long car rides and isn’t just fun, but educational too!
The app also provides a feature where they can go in and mix any color they want to see what color it makes. This is super fun for my daughter because she absolutely loves to mix colors and see what she can come up with. She has even started doing this with crayons when she colors on her own. It is fun to see what new colors, and color mixtures she is learning and how excited she has gotten to get creative and use her imagination.
This app is great for kids of all ages, but even more so for children between 2-5 because this is when they will pick these skills and concepts up the fastest. My kids have absolutely LOVED this app. They enjoy playing with the colors and choosing what pictures to color. (if you have more than one, consider turns or a second tablet LOL) I have seen them picking up colors easier and my daughter (5) has been mixing colors of crayons when she colors which is new to her. (and she is loving it!)
