The Icky Stick….What is it exactly? It is a new and rising toilet cleaning tool that is also great for other porcelain appliances such as tubs and sinks. It can remove lime scale, rust stains, those yucky yellow rings that come from not cleaning the toilet often enough, calcium deposits and so much more! It is easy to use-just run it under water for a few minutes before using (or even just swish it in the toilet first) then brush away those nasty stains and deposits with the use of this nifty little pumice stone.
Now, typically I do not allow my toilet to get so dirty it gets a yellow ring or that iffy smell they get when it’s been just a little bit too long wince the last scrub. In fact, as a slight Germaphobe, I usually scrub the toilet at least twice a week-sometimes even three to four times if it looks even a little dirty. So, for the sake of trying out this pumice stone toilet ring remover I reached beyond my typical cleaning habits and left it sit for over a week. (can we say-ICK!?) At this point it was starting to form quite the ring because we admittedly also got the stomach bug the same week (such HORRIBLE timing!) and it was getting quite the funk…
Actually, it looked even worse than the toilet above-and I was to the point I would have preferred a public toilet…Without the special paper coverings they make (how do they even effectively do anything anyways??)-that’s how bad it was. I began by wetting down the stone and went right to cleaning the bowl as soon as it was ready. It works great! It removes the stain and leaves the bowl sparkling clean without scratching the bowls finish. My only complaint was the sound it made as I was using it. It was much like nails on a chalk board. But some loud music or a pair of ear plugs could totally fix that problem! (especially with how easy it made ring removal!)
After trying it on my toilet, I got curious. I couldn’t stop there. I went on to try it on my tub. We have some pretty hard water, so we have been forming some build up and also a rust stain under the spout/near the drain. I tested just a small spot to make sure th pumice wouldn’t scratch our tub, then went to work. It got rid of the rust stains and the build up and they have yet to reform. Our tub looks new again!
The Icky Stick is easy enough for children or men to use, (no offense guys-we know unless you are one of the special guys out there-toilets are NOT really your forte. 😉 see the special video below) and fast and effective enough for they busy women out there. It quickly and effectively removes stains and is reusable. It-from the looks of it-will last quite a long time and see much use before needing to be replaced. To wash it out, just swirl it in the toilet bowl, or for germaphobes like me, use hot water in the sink to get rid of the excess on the stick. It is great for those who don’t have as much time to clean and have to go longer between cleanings because you won’t have to spend the extra time finding cleaners that “blast” away the stains. (though-most of them really don’t)
