Wearever products are no stranger to me. Not that I have personally used them for myself, but after two years at a handicapped facility and other family members going through diabetes and incontenence issues (nope-no names being shared!) I have had the opportunity to experience the mattress pads and socks first hand. Honestly, if any of them ever used the WearEver underwear-I would not have a clue and rightly so.
Their products are specifically designed for the aging, disabled, and diabetic (or those with circulation issues) populations. They will offer support, protection, and peace of mind. While I would LOVE to tell you about every single one of their products one at a time and my take on them, most of them I haven’t seen or used in a few years. That is, except one-the Plaid Mattress Pad.
This pad is large enough for a twin sized bed and covers pretty much the whole area one person would take up (even when rolling around) when sleeping. It is the perfect way to protect against incontinence and bed wetting or leaky depends/diapers. While I don’t use it directly for myself, I do keep one on my sons bed and also one on our bed. This mattress pad is discreet-if needing to use it in a living area it looks almost as though it’s just another throw on a couch/chair and covers the seat well.
It covers my sons toddler/twin bed well. He has been potty training and we started night training as soon as the pad came in the mail. I absolutely love it! It protects his mattress and I keep it above the sheets so I don’t have to wash the bedding every day and it has saved us a lot of wash. I just take the pad and wash it on days he has had accidents the prior evening and on days he doesn’t it just leave it on. (I hope for more of those soon!) Because it has up to 200 washes, it is a great tool and has really stood up to the demands of a potty training toddler.
The reason we use another additional pad on our bed is because our son is not yet out of coming into our room so often he will come in and that is when he will have his accident, so we keep the pad in the middle of the bed between us a little higher than we would typically keep it if we needed it for ourselves. (which I hope to avoid for years to come!) Since using it we have had to change the sheets much less and it is thin enough we don’t even notice it on the bed (and he doesn’t seem to notice it either) yet it is absorbent enough that he doesn’t wake up soaked (other than his clothes sometimes) from sleeping in his pee all night. (he doesn’t wake when he has an accident at night)
I highly recommend this mattress pad for anyone to use in their living area or on their bed-especially if they have incontinence problems or if they have a small toddler that still visits them in bed sometimes. It would be (and from what I’ve experienced) a great product for anyone who is ill, incontinent, disabled, or who has an extremely active bladder and can’t always make it in time. (or can’t tell it’s coming until after it’s already started)
