Learning Success

It can be so hard when your child is struggling and you don’t know how to help them. It can be as simple as a math problem, or as complicated as Autism, ADHD, or Dyslexia. Nothing is ever as it seems and it can be exhausted trying to figure out what exactly we can’t or can’t do for our child.

Fortunately, there is a lot of help. Having my own personal fight with autism and along with experience from family members and working with children (and some adults) with disabilities, I have found there are resources out there that never used to be provided. It can be a huge blessing, and it can also be a curse. It can be over whelming and tricky figuring out what services or helps to get for our children or not accept. Some are wolves in sheep clothing, while others are the cream of the crop. There is therapies, special education, personal tutors, one-on-one aids, and so much more.

You Could be the Help They Need.

Now, I am not suggesting pulling your autistic child out of special classes or telling your school your child no longer needs one-on-one help, or insisting your doctor take your child off of medications. All of those things are helpful, and sometimes needed.

What I am telling you, is there is a way you can help your child and possibly help them overcome some of the obstacles that stand in their way.

I was recently introduced to an AMAZING program. And I can tell you-IT WORKS! My daughter leans on the side of dyslexic. Now, she’s never been diagnosed but not only being her mom, but also her teacher, I have had a lot of time to notice her reading backwards or struggling to focus when we get to the phonics segment of class. Now, to explain, my daughter loves when I read to her, and she loves to try to read, but when it comes down to it, she has the hardest time!

We had tried everything!  Or, it felt that way at least. No matter how hard I tried, or pushed , or how often I showed her the same thing over, and Over, and OVER-she just wasn’t getting it.

Until one day…. I was offered the opportunity to try a revolutionary program that is designed to help students/children with basic learning skill issues/weaknesses. It is a program delivered by email once daily and it comes with clear instructions and takes only about 15-20 minutes a day.

What I love even more is it doesn’t take a lot of supplies, and the supplies it does take will be reused throughout the whole year.

What you need:

Sheet Protectors http://amzn.to/12mT3s9
Dry Erase Markers http://amzn.to/10erXoZ
Dry Erase Board http://amzn.to/10GzLeV
Everything on the list is simple and doesn’t cost much. You can find most of these at a dollar store, craft store,  or party supply store. I provided easy links to Amazon as well.
I also love that they talk you through it like they are in the room with you. The program reminds you to take it easy, keep expectations realistic, and be patient. It also makes sure to point out that tiring your child won’t help the problem, but could intensify it.
What Does it Look LIke?
It starts with an email. The first email welcomes you , explains the program, and tells you what you’ll need.
They then send the first activity along with directions and a downloadable format (they recommend adding it to a three ring binder for easy access)
Each activity touches on a different skill meant to help “re-program” your child’s brain to focus, overcome learning obstacles, and make home work fun for your child. Each activity is fun, designed to look and feel like games. They keep my daughters attention, and she often asks to do them more.
We still have our bad days when I get overwhelmed, or she is unable to handle an activity, but we just take a break and continue on the program the next day. It’s nice, the program is designed that way. Since starting, she is able to focus better, and although she is still having some issues with phonics and reading, it is getting better and the “fight” isn’t so much of a fight anymore. School is enjoyable for her, and me, again!
So, what is this program? I can see you are on the edge of your seat-so I will spill!  The program I just described is the Learning Success Program.
It is a great program, and I highly recommend it! If I could give this program away to everyone I meet with children with learning issues, I would! I have seen this program at work, and believe the way it is set up it is designed to work for any child. It is never too early, or too late, to begin!
