Dot to Dot Multipurpose Bag

 

The Dot to Dot Organizer bag is absolutely wonderful! I have the large one and one of the first things I noticed about it is it’s waterproof feature. Now, I know it was in the description, but I am wary of anything that claims water proof until I see it. This is true to it’s word. I love that they are mesh because it makes it super simple to see what is in the bag and I can easily access what I want to. I got the large organizer bag and LOVE it.

This bag would be perfect for packing swim wear, towels, or larger toiletries for a longer trip like full sized body wash, shampoos, and conditioners. (it would even fit my large bottle of hair spray!) I actually use it to organize my cosmetics right now, it holds all of my make up and keeps it from getting wet or dirty and also keeps my make up from getting all over everything else in my bathroom closet. I can see exactly what I am looking for easily and it allows me to conveniently get what I want out of the bag. I like large bags because I tend to pack more into my bags etc than I should and I don’t have to worry about that with this bag. When I use it in my bathroom I put my nail polish at the bottom of the bag and my make up up top (since I use it more) and they all fit in the bag with room to spare. I used to have to use three different cosmetics bags to hold everything.

The bag came in a vinyl storage bag which was awesome because if I’m not using it I can keep it safe in that bag, and when I am I can use the vinyl bag separately for storing other things perhaps in my bedroom or school room since it is a zipper pouch style bag. For travel I just empty my bag of things I don’t need like extra nail polish etc. and add in our shampoos, soaps, and other products like deodorant and perfume/cologne and keep my makeup in it as well. I never worry about a bottle breaking or something leaking because if it does, only what is in the bag will suffer, our clothes and other valuables won’t get wet or dirty from a sad accident. Dot to Dot Large Packing Cubes

I absolutely LOVE this packing cube set! The cubes are large enough to hold everything I need from pants, shirt, cosmetics/toiletries, skirts/shorts…(all of the above!) Dr. Song Rosehip Oil

Rosehip Oil can be used in so many ways. It  can be used to stimulate nail growth and care for our cuticles, to keep our skin soft and smooth by adding it to masks, lotions, and even body washes. DIY with Rosehip Oil: 

Two of my favorite “recipes” that I use to DIY with Rosehip Oil are below. The first is a DIY anti-wrinkle cream.  I use it to prevent aging, but it can also be used to help fill in and heal wrinkles or fine lines that are already showing. The second is a cleanser/mask made with rosehip oil. It is great for those with sensitive skin, like myself, and really pampers and cares for facial skin in a way that other masks or cleansers filled with chemicals can not.  Try them out if you would like and enjoy!

Anti-Wrinkle Cream*:

Ingredients:

x  2 tsp  Jojoba Oil

x  1 tsp Coconut Oil

x  3 tsp Apricot Kernel Oil

x  3 tsp Rosehip Oil

x  1.5 tsp Beeswax Pastilles

x  6-10 tsp Rose Water

Directions:

Place beeswax, jojoba, coconut, rosehip and essential oils (basically everything besides the rose water!) in a double boiler or right in a stainless steel pan (keep your pans separate).  Heat on low very gently to melt wax about 5-8 minutes.

Stir well.

After you you remove the ingredients from the stove (I let mine cool for a few minutes because it can be really hot.)

Place in blender (be careful bc this can be very tough to clean out after).

Add in the rose water a little bit at a time (through the top of the blender).

Pulse the blender a few times and you will have a nice fluffy cream.  Remember the cleanup can be MESSY! Still worth it though.

 

                            Cleanser/Mask*:

Ingredients:

• 1/3c. oatmeal
• 2 tbsp. dried lavender buds
• 2 tbsp. dried rose petals
• 1/3c. bentonite clay
• 5 drops lavender essential oil
• 3 drops rosehip seed oil

Combine the oatmeal, lavender, and rose petals in a clean coffee grinder and grind into a powder. Combine with clay in small bowl, then drop in the essential oils. Mix thoroughly (I like to use a whisk) to evenly distribute the oils all throughout the powder.

Package the finished powder in individual jars or bags for gifting. No refrigeration is required, but it should be stored in a cool, dry cupboard and used within 6 months for maximum freshness.

As a Cleanser

Place 1-2 tsp of the powdered cleanser into the palm of your hand, and sprinkle in water (I use some milk if my skin is feeling dry) and work into a spreadable paste. Apply the entire mixture to cover the face, throat, and décolleté, massaging in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water.

As a Mask

Amazing Facts about Penguins

 

I really liked this book, and so did my kids! It as a ton of cute penguin pictures and facts about penguins that my kids enjoyed and we all learned a lot of things about penguins. Some of those things I didn’t even know myself, even though I really do love penguins. While my daughter can not yet read this book all by herself yet (she’s in 1st) we really enjoyed reading together and we were able to learn quite a lot even in our first time reading it.

The pictures in this book are full of color and look so real, even though they are just normal illustrations. While it is 40 pages long, I found there was just the right amount presented on each page that it held all three of my kids’ attention and we were able to learn so much! My daughter loved finding out that penguins don’t have teeth and looking at the baby penguins and imagining what their downy “fur”/feathers probably feel like to the touch. I can’t wait until my daughter is able to read this book on her own and highly recommend this to parents of children 6-10 as it seems like the perfect book for that age range.
