Ever gone to write a paper and hit a block? Not sure the proper grammar, spelling, wording, etc. to use? I have really enjoyed using StyleWriter 4 in my everyday writing. It is simple to use, just select the section of writing you would like to have “analyzed” and open up StyleWriter 4. If it doesn’t automatically show the section of paragraph you have copied to the clipboard, just go to the file menu and click on ‘Open’. It will open the text from your clipboard and completely analyze the whole section for you from sentence construction to words used and more. It has done a lot to improve my writing skills and has gotten me past ruts and blocks I have come against. I found out that in some areas I am not that good at writing, and in others I really excel. It turns out I have great grammar, but I have a BAD habit of using a lot of ‘glue words’ that are not overly necessary. I also use a lot of words of emphasis that are not necessary-but I tend to ignore StyleWriter on those, because I must admit, I love a bit of the dramatic. 😉
Overall, this program has been great! I have used it when writing up documents on Word to use for the charity race I am heading up. I also have used it when writing my blog posts (such as this one) and to proof a few more important documents I have worked on over the last few months. This program would be great for students, whether in public, private, or home schools. (or for those in college) It is also great for the working professional, blogger, writers, or even charity workers. It will help each document look more put together and have a more professional feel to it. They offer three forms of the program and a free trial to try any of the three and choose which you would like or would work best in your situation. Tru Synergy Yacon is absolutely wonderful! I have used it in my drinks, baking, and some recipes and I love how it doesn’t change the flavor of my food or baked goods and my kids and husband haven’t noticed a difference at all. (as far as it goes with their food anyways) I lost almost three pounds the first week I used it and could feel a change in my energy levels that I absolutely loved.
I take Tru Synergy Yacon Syrup as directed, 1tsp three times a day and I also add a *small* amount to my coffee/tea and baked goods and some recipes. If I use a full tsp (or two) in a recipe I skip a tsp that day so I don’t take more than recommended. For best results I take it 20-30 minutes before eating so that it is fully absorbed and it helps me to eat less. My appetite is more “normal” at that point and my serving sizes smaller. Because it digests/metabolizes slowly (because it’s a complex sugar) I go longer between snacks or needing another meal so I am eating a healthier amount and losing weight because of it. I also like that it’s slow metabolizing means steady energy and more stable blood sugar. (which is great since there’s a long history of diabetes in my family).

The theme I was given to review in order to tell you all about this great resource was the Baby Mustache theme. (or Little Man) It is completely mustache themed. Mustache games, banner, invites and more. The process is super easy. All you have to do is choose your theme, download what items you want, then print or you can even send the them downloads to a local print shop who will print it off for you, usually for less than it’d cost to buy all the party supplies.
Every part of the theme is adorable and bright, even the brown of the mustache come out looking fit for a baby shower for any little boy. The place cards/rsvp cards (however you’d like to use them) match perfectly with the invitations (pictured in the collection above) and go right with the theme. There is program after program out there for creating lay outs, making new builds, and to design staging for a home. But none I’ve found free or paid are like RoomSketcher. (http://roomsketcher.com) This program prices any where from free to $49 for a year (personal use) or around $99 for a year to use commercially. (price varies based on need) It makes it easy and affordable for anyone on any budget to design a room or new home without going broke. It can be used by novices (like myself) or contractors, real estate agents, or interior designers. (you know, the professionals 😉 )
I have been using it for a little while now. I am still finding new features each day that I didn’t know were there before and have thoroughly enjoyed being able to figure it out and also find new ways to furnish our house and also dream a little and start designing a new home. We are in the process of looking for a new apartment or house as well, so I’ve found houses I liked and played around with different furnishings there too-but of course, just a dream! (hey, a girl can do that, right?)
I was given the opportunity to try Room Sketcher VIP ($49-http://www.roomsketcher.com/vip-en001/) a year for a few months (I believe 6-but I may be wrong…don’t quote me) to test it out and share it with you all, my favorite readers. It has been an enjoyable experience! I find new features and options each time I use it! And the premium gallery photos look great and I can save them to my computer to “reference” them or share.
The VIP version of Room Sketcher allows me to create a floor plan, furnish my floors with real furnishings and appliances, take 2D and 3D pictures of the lay out, take a 3D tour, and so much more! One thing that makes it even cooler is I can start the floor plans and decorating online, and if I’m in a waiting room or appointment I can check out my projects and brainstorm ideas of how I’d like to make changes or additions in the RoomSketcher app and then go home and use those ideas on my computer. (found in GooglePlay or the Istore) The app comes in handy when I want to show off my progress as with VIP I can view all of my projects.
Above you’ll see a 2D version of my living room. I cut out the kitchen portion and added a door to the hallway so I could accurately lay out the area. It shows our three windows, the closet inside our door, and our front door as they sit. It’s like a small scale version of our current living room. I liked this feature because it shows all of the furniture without any of the extra “clutter” of the full layout (I am not a simple woman LOL) since I tried to make it as close to how I’d like it or have it as possible.
I actually absolutely love the 3D layout feature even more. You get a full top view of the space including appliances. (in fact, I just noticed I forgot curtains!) I designed it full with a sectional, side chair, even down to the magazines and art work on the wall. It only took a few minutes to scale the house and I could choose from feet or meters making it easy that way as well as I can measure which ever way I prefer. I found out there are more ways to rearrange our space than I thought and was able to find a great way to set it up where we would have plenty of space but still get to use the pieces we really love. (and I do LOVE this sectional couch) You can even see a 3d tour of the room. I shared a link below for demonstration. That feature makes it easy to see everything going on in the room.
This 2D is of a new house build (it’s still in the works-so forgive the “clutter”, I’m working on changing the rooms up or figuring out the best layout for what we want…) Again, it shows the rooms, furniture, even the appliances and cars. (hard to see, but there’s a moped too 😉 ) Here you’ll see the furnishings for a living room, bathroom (which I haven’t yet resized), kitchen/dining room (I think I’ll separate those as well), and even the outdoor set up from a sand box to a pool and lounge chairs etc. The 2D is a great way to see the layout-but even more exciting to see is the 3D. It really brings it into perspective and pulls it together. It really makes it easy to visualize what it is going to look like when it is done. (down to the very last detail…)
Not only can you take a 3D photo of they lay out or even a specific feature of the room (and you can make a Gallery too), but there is a walk through capability too. You can actually walk through the room as an avatar as though you were touring the house for real. Above you can actually see the lady avatar standing next to the island where I left her right before taking this screen shot. You can also tour without an avatar, or their is an airplane icon that allows you to circle around the building from above making it possible to get the best views of the layout as possible.
Here you’ll see an birds eye view of the bathroom as though you are only peaking in. You see my shower, makeup table (going to remove that-it’s just a guest bath anyways!), the sink, and you can see I even was able to add the “small details” such as toilet paper, towel racks, and toothbrush holders etc. There are TONS of options to choose from-I have yet to see them all, I am constantly finding more options! I love the fact I can look at each room in a myriad of ways, and even take pictures that I can go back and compare with to see what I like best. (note: pictures/360 video tours take what they call credits-VIP you only get 20, so use them wisely!)
This is just another view of the layout. Here you can see that I took the picture while circling around it in the airplane mode. I could choose to zoom in or zoom out to get a more specific view of what I wanted to see and I can use the navigational buttons (found under the zoom line) to look forward, backwards, or circle around at my own pace.
Here you can see two views of the same house design with furnishings, but as you can see, they look very different. The first view is flatter, less vibrant, lacking detail, and while it still gives a great idea of what the house could look like, it is just a basic look. On the right, (or the second picture) you can see detail, from brighter colors to more distinct detail and a further look at size, thickness, a full feeling of what the house can look like. You see everything down to the throw pillows and bananas on the island. It is clear, concise, and visually appealing. The 3D feature of Room Sketcher is almost the selling point of signing up for the VIP account with Room Sketcher. It is a great program to begin with, but the added features available with the VIP account are the icing on the cake.
With hundreds of furniture and appliance options, this program isn’t just helpful, it’s fun! You can decorate everything any way you want and even add books to the bookshelves and a tv to the living room. (a wall unit, or a “table” unit on a tv stand…or whatever) You can see what a room would look like with a fireplace or insert, or what kind of couch looks great with what carpet and lighting fixtures or even “tear your current home down” and redesign it in your free time.
This program has been great to use and I can see where it would be great for amateurs like myself or professionals looking for a great program to do the hard work for them. (measuring etc) while they can sit down with clients and offer a 3D view of what they would like to do or have. Interior designers can get great use from this program as well with all the real furnishing options they offer (they even pop up who it’s made by in the side window-see the pic above). It’s easy, it’s well made, it’s colorful and fun to use, and it’s got a great appeal to it visually that other programs don’t offer. (especially without spending an arm and a leg)
If you are looking to move into a new home, build a new home, or even redesign/redecorate your current home, this program is perfect to meet all your needs! You can try it out in the free version to see how you like it, but the best features are found in the VIP format for $49 for a full year. (that’s only $4 a month!)

Finances can be a myriad of things-overwhelming, overflowing, non existent, or so many other things. Like many of you I have felt the weight of our finances on my shoulders. I must admit, I blamed God to a point, wondering why He would allow us to struggle so much and why no matter what we did, we never seemed to “get ahead”. I have had money “over flowing” (not that I was rich, so to speak, but certainly living within my means…) and we have had nothing-living day by day off of what others could offer us and staying with family. Through it all, God has been there-pulling us through, but that does not change the way I know I felt-the misconceptions held, and the major financial mistakes made during these times.
The book Financial Empowerment: Realign your Finances to God’s Will is an eye opening, and equally helpful book that I wish I had been able to read at the worst of times, but am grateful to have read even now, living between having nothing and true prosperity. It is more than just a book about finances and how to live a prosperous life.
It begins by talking about why we would want, or need, to talk about our finances. It goes on to talk about who the source of our money is and how we need to trust God as our source-while often we don’t. The first two chapters really set the stage for the entire book. If you are a Christian reading this book-expect to feel convicted on certain topics, and to feel led to do exactly what God has asked us to do from the very start-Trust.
The next chapter touches on what wealth is, why to work, and how to “create” wealth. It breaks each topic within each chapter down into “sections” and gets very specific. One thing that really touched home to me, as a Stay -at – home mom was when it talked about WHY we should work. I may not go to an outside job, but what I do around the house is still important, and often I forget why I even bother. (especially when things build up again and again) The chapter talks about how work is God and reaps rewards, and how it is God’s assignment to us.
The book moves on to tithing, saving, investing, and how to spend. Each chapter breaks down it’s specific topic and gives tips that are easy and fun to do along with realistic and feel “personalized” for it’s readers. I really liked chapter 7 because I have a tendency to spend outside my means and it gives practical tips to help eliminate excessive spending while still allowing me to feel comfortable with it or as though I am not necessarily spending less-though I really am…
Before the book moves to it’s final chapters, it discusses giving , debt, and lending and it’s effects on finances. Giving is truly an act of faith and this book does a great job of presenting this important topic. I can attest (and sadly admit) to the fact that there have been times I have wanted to give, but didn’t trust God enough to provide what we needed if I did and missed an opportunity for blessing and to bless another person. It talks about how to give and what giving can accomplish and asks the important question of “Why Christians, but not givers?” (something I have often considered…)Â On the topic of debt it talks both about being the effect of debt, and God’s way OUT of debt. It goes right into a chapter about lending and the do’s and don’ts and what it takes to lend the godly way.
It’s last chapters talk about a financial plan, how to keep it in perspective, and how both righteousness and riches tie into each other. It discusses how to plan finances and how it is a lot like planning for a trip, God’s plan, why we often don’t plan, (I tend to fall into the “My goals are too big” category) how to keep track of money, and taking the steps to financial success. Not only does this book address finances, but also relationships and the importance of not only managing finances, but also take control of other aspects of life such as spiritual life, health, and career. I liked chapter 12 because it can be difficult keeping things in perspective, especially when in a “pit” of sorts. It is easy to let money control our actions, whether we have none or are overflowing, and it effectively explains how to master money without being controlled by it.
This entire book is a great standard of how to treat and control finances and get on track while doing it God’s way. It is chock ful of supporting scriptures (in NKJV) and is clear and concise. This is a book anyone needing clear, easy to follow directions and tips on ways to effectively get finances under control and manage money the godly way. I highly recommend this book to any Christian looking to prioritize finances or those who are struggling to get by. This book has been a huge help in our home and I plan to keep it around because it has tips, ideas, and advice for any financial state.

I have written a lot about Adovia products in the last few months. I have explained how there are TONS of benefits to using products with Dead Sea salt and mud in them. I love lists. In fact, I live by them-I’m sure I’ve told you that before. I don’t know why, but if I don’t have a list to check off and go by, nothing gets done. It can be so hard to keep track sometimes-I mean, I keep lists of lists and nothing has ever been in one place. That is-until a special little planner walked, or was shipped into my life.
The 2014 and 2015 Daily Planners are such useful tools-and they keep everything from appointments to the grocery list and contacts all in one place. This pretty little planner has made it easy to write a list about a list, about a list, on top of a list all in one place.
Although I haven’t had the opportunity to use the 2015 calendar yet (for some obvious reasons) I have found that used with my Mommy Planner (which has turned into primarily a schedule keeper for school time with Ella) this Planner has become a daily staple and what keeps me on track and all my appointments organized. I don’t have to wonder when something is happening now, I know because I write it into my planner as soon as I find out. It’s big enough that I don’t need to squint when I read and it’s compact enough it fits in my medium sized purse so I can take it with me. (it will also fit in most glove compartments. Voila! Planner on the go! 🙂 )
 Not only is this planner useful-but it has a lot of great features. The first that is easy to note is the calendars and planning tools it offers. The most obvious of these are the Monthy and Yearly Calendars and the Weekly planning tool. All have easy tabs that are scattered so each section is easy to find and they all have beautiful, cheerful pictures. Each also has an inspirational quote or scripture to reflect on each time you open to that particular section.
The yearly calendar section makes it easy to record birthday’s life events, anniversaries etc all in once place so you never have to forget another birthday or important date ever again. The Monthly calendar is great for writing down that months birthday’s appointments, meetings, calls that need to be made, or whatever you need to record in that particular section. I write all birthdays for each month and appointments here first so I won’t forget and then when I plan my week out I add those events to the designated days.
Above is a look at the weekly planner. It gives a space to list tasks that need to get done that week (or goals you have of tasks you’d like to see done) and a space large enough for each day that you can make a good game plan and also list appointments and engagements in it. It also offers a place to list the meal for that day. Each week offers a verse to reflect on throughout the week and a quick view of the month you are in so you don’t have to flip around looking for it when making plans.
I love this section because it feeds my need to plan and to make lists about lists. For example-say I want to make a list about cleaning my room, but I’d like to break it down into daily tasks and goals-I can write “Get room clean” in the Tasks section, then each day make a “list” of which tasks I would like to, 0r need to, get done in order to meet that goal set for the week. It keeps me organized and saves me time because everything I need is right there in front of me for the whole week so I know exactly what I am facing or why I can’t “put it off” til tomorrow.
Although it already offers a “Tasks” spot in the weekly planner, the Daily Planner also dons a decently sized “Tasks List” section. This is great for when you need to get a larger job done or have a larger goal to meet and need to put together a more extensive game plan. I used this section to make a game plan to clean/organize the whole house and then used this game plan to put together a daily plan that I wrote down in my weekly planner on the designated days. It really came in handy and it made it easier to see what I had gotten done, how far I’d come, and just what I really had left to get done.
 As I stated above, each section has an inspirational quote or scripture verse to think on during the day or each time you see it. It has been great because it has been an awesome reminder of who I ultimately do everything I do for and who it is I aim to please and it has also made it harder to have a “bad attitude” about the tasks I have to do because it places my focus upward not inward.
Not pictured for you is four more great sections-the Info section, Shopping section, Projects section, and Events Section . The Info Section makes it easy to keep all your contacts in one place. It gives a space for names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers so you won’t have to flip through the phone book or search your cell phone for the number-it will be right at your finger tips.
The Shopping section is another great tool. It has one page designated just for store phone numbers so if you need help, forget a bag of groceries, or have to ask a question, you can have their number right with everything else-no Google needed! The rest of the section is pages split in half and lined so you can take the meal plan from the weekly planner and write down the groceries you’ll need to make it happen and add the snack foods/staples you’d like to add to your pantry as well. (it all falls into place with the daily meal option and shopping list! 🙂 )

Organization… We all need it. Some of us have it down to an art, others use lists, others do everything on the fly-or not at all-due to a great lack of it. I, am in the middle. I live by lists. Lists about cleaning, lists about places I have to be. Lists about what order to do my lists. Lists telling me to write a list. I have them all.
You probably read that and think, ‘If you live by lists, doesn’t that mean you are not in the middle, but on the side of organization?’ (and maybe you didn’t, but who am I to know? )   I am here to say, no. I also live on ignoring my lists. I write them in the attempt to stay organized, do things in a good order, get more done-then I ignore them. It’s inevitable. No matter how hard I try, I always manage to ignore the lists I make. Whether it’s about where to be or what to do, something gets written off.
For example, I have been working super hard to get my bedroom clean. No big deal, right? Wrong. My room hadn’t been cleaned since before my youngest was born a year and a half ago. Actually,about three or four months before he was born. So for almost two years it has sat in disarray gathering everything from clothes on the floor to kids toys, books, some garbage (nothing gross-just wrappers etc) and anything else that happened to just get chucked in there. (we have a small house-how many places are there to put it? 😉 )
Anyways, I’ve been working on this since the beginning of last week. That’s really not bad considering I’m chasing three kids under six, home schooling my oldest, and keeping up on all the other housework as well. If you are a huge fan of good grammar-don’t read this book. But if it doesn’t bother you to have a few misused words and lack of grammatical order-then this is an easy read. Although the grammar through me off a little, I was able to get past it and read the book for what it was. It was filled with good tips and great ways to bring a little order to life without needing to spend hours a day cleaning and losing time with those we love.
Among the tips were:
Think like a hiker. (pack light so to speak)
Get rid of unused gifts. (re-gift, donate, sell)
Meal Plan.
Avoid the $1 Rack in stores (or that awesome 75%-80% off rack at Kohls)
And so many more!
Because this book is written in a list form, it is easy to read and even easier to follow. It can even be used as a check list if you want. Handwriting isn’t always easy. It’s a learned skill-and not one so easily achieved. It takes years to fully master each pen stroke and word. Writing is such an important skill in our day in age-from writing essays to signing our name on an important document.
You know how it goes-it starts with letters and numbers, then two letter words, the child moves on to three or four letter words and works towards short sentences and phrases, and so on. Many of us, myself included, spend a lot of time and money on this prospect. When my daughter started to write, I found myself spending money on things such as workbooks, white boards, tactile letters, more workbooks-because finding the perfect one is not as easy as you’d think, computer programs, and more.
It isn’t easy to find a good system, workbook, or program sometimes. But it is ever important to teach our kids to write. So what do we do? I found myself so sick of the workbooks, computer programs, and endless advice from well intentioned people. I wanted nothing more than what was best for my daughter and what worked for us. So-I started making my own sheets. We would sound out short words and she would trace my own writing on notebook paper and practice to her little hearts content-or so I thought that’s what would happen anyways. Even that was too much-we spent so much on notebooks and there were days she just wanted the old worksheets that she had once said were too hard.
Then I found a new system-simple, inexpensive, and customized by me so it fits her needs and desires, yet still offers the handwriting education she so much needs. I also love that if I am not sure what to do-I can watch Video tutorials on the StartWrite site and Youtube making it easy to figure out what I need to do or get good ideas for the next worksheet. StartWrite 6.0 gives the option to save to my computer so I can also save the worksheets and reuse them when my sons are old enough to get started. I love that I can make handwriting sheets that coincide with my daughters curriculum as well. StartWrite 6.0 offers lots of graphic options so it is easy to coincide with the unit we are working on during that given week. I can even use my own clip art or pictures from my computer.
This is a worksheet made used to use during our Insect Unit. It only took about five minutes to make and print and the worksheet went right along with what we were learning about. (the last line is cut off because we are working on my daughters full name as well)
